How Long Does Profhilo Last? Complete Results Timeline
Thinking about Profhilo? Here's exactly what to expect week by week, how long results last, and when you'll need a top-up. A realistic timeline from initial treatment to maintenance.
Profhilo is one of the most popular skin treatments we perform at AURA — and one of the most asked-about questions is: how long do results actually last? Here's a realistic, week-by-week timeline.
The Treatment Protocol
Profhilo requires two sessions, four weeks apart. This isn't optional — the second session is essential for triggering the full bio-remodelling response. Skipping or delaying the second session significantly reduces results.
Week-by-Week Timeline
Week 1 (After First Session)
You'll have small bumps at the 5 injection points on each side of the face. These settle within 24-48 hours. Your skin may feel slightly tighter. Don't expect visible results yet — the magic is happening beneath the surface.
Weeks 2-3
The hyaluronic acid is spreading through the tissue and beginning to stimulate fibroblasts. You might notice your skin feels more hydrated, but visible structural changes haven't occurred yet.
Week 4 (Second Session)
Time for your second treatment. This session amplifies the bio-remodelling response triggered by the first. The concentrated HA continues stimulating four types of collagen and elastin production.
Weeks 5-8
This is when results start becoming visible. Clients typically notice:
- Improved skin luminosity and glow
- Firmer, less crepey skin texture
- Subtle lifting effect, particularly around the jawline and cheeks
- Reduced fine lines, especially around the mouth and eyes
Weeks 8-12
Peak results. The collagen and elastin remodelling reaches its maximum effect. This is when most clients see the full benefit — skin that looks genuinely healthier, not "done."
Months 3-6
Results remain strong. The collagen that's been stimulated is structural and persists even as the HA itself is gradually absorbed by the body.
Months 6-9
Results begin to gradually diminish. The rate depends on your age, skin condition, lifestyle factors (sun exposure, smoking, stress), and genetics.
How Long Do Results Last?
On average, Profhilo results last 6-9 months. Some clients report benefits lasting up to 12 months, particularly if they maintain good skincare and sun protection.
Maintenance Protocol
We recommend a single maintenance session every 6 months to sustain results. This single session (not the full two-session course) is usually sufficient to top up the bio-remodelling effect.
Who Gets the Best Results?
- Age 30-55: When collagen loss is noticeable but skin still has good regenerative capacity
- Mild to moderate skin laxity: Profhilo excels at early intervention
- Good skincare routine: SPF and retinoids extend results significantly
